How do I view each participants bids in an auction?
What's the issue you're facing?
I have a live auction ongoing and would like to be able to see what each of my participants is bidding. How can I do this?
Solution
The auction view will provide you with mutiple pieces of information about your auction. They are:
- The auction feed
- The best overall bid and who the lead participant is
- All participant's bids
- The number of bids that have been placed
- What your savings are
The Auction Feed
To see the auction feed:
- Navigate to your event within the Market Dojo platform and click on the Auction tab.
- Under the Live Auction Feed you will be able to see what each participant bid on each lot and when as well as what that participants rank for that lot is.
How to see what the best overall bid is and who the lead participant is
To see the overall best bid:
- You can also see each participant's best bid value and which supplier has the leading bid for each lot as well as any savings.
- You can see in the example below for lot 1 Participant 2 has the leading bid if $249,500, but for lot 2 Participant 1 has the leading bid of $247,500.
- If you choose the expand the Best Bid Value column you will then be able to see each of your participants bes bids for each lot.
Viewing all participant's bids
If the event is using Advanced Lots you can expand this out further to see all participant bids on each lot and line item within the lots.
- Click on the + icon next to the supplier you would like to see
- You can then see that participants individual overall bid.
- If you expand the lot using the + icon next to the lot name you can see their bids on each on each line item within the lot.
How to see how many bids have been placed
To see how many bids have been placed:
- On the right side of the event you can see a column called # Bids. This column will update live each time a bid is placed.
How to see what my savings are
To see the current savings in your event first you will need to ensure that each of your lots/line items have a current price assigned to them. The article linked below exlains what this is and how to assign it.
- What is the Current Price and how do I use it in both Simple and Advanced Lots?
Once a current price is assigned to see your savings:
- *Note that if an auction is live and you did not assigned a current price prior to starting the auction you will not be able to assign a current price until the auction is completed.
- Navigate to your RFQs or Auction tab in your event.
- Within your lots you'll see a column with Savings Offered.
- In the example below there is a 4.81% saving of £1,530.00 over the current price the host is paying.
- The 'Difference Offered' is the potential saving or gain against the 'Total Current Value'. This is worked out by calculating the difference between your current estimated price for the UoM against the best bid for the UoM and multiplied by the quantly of UoM's.
