We're excited to announce that our AI capability within the tool has been expanded, with an innovative Sourcing AI Assistant.
This is the foundation for lots of exciting work to come in the next few months as we evolve our broader agentic AI capability.
The Current Functionality
The AI Assistant can be found within the header bar of any Sourcing page:
On click a chat window will appear where you can ask the embedded AI (Gemini) any question you like!
Our first iteration of the AI assistant is powered by the Gemini AI interface and tailored with knowledge of the Market Dojo Sourcing environment. It can also draw on the wider internet to provide context and insights.
At this stage, the assistant is not fully augmented within the tool and does not have access to your data - ensuring full security and privacy.
Even so, it’s already a useful way to get quick advice, explore best practices, and sense-check strategies.
What's Next?
Our plan now is to build additional functionality into the AI Assistant so that it can provide the most value possible.
The next step is to provide it with access to our Knowledge Base article repository, so that it can provide more specific advice on how to work with any given piece of Sourcing functionality.
Once this is complete, we will focus on event creation, seeking to quickly generate new Sourcing events from a single prompt, with the Assistant asking any relevant follow-up questions to generate the most accurate and high-performing tender possible.
Where Do We Want To Get To?
Our roadmap includes a range of features designed to bring innovative AI features into everyday use for procurement professionals.
Below are some of the practical applications we’re prioritising to improve productivity, actionable insights and performance:
- Updating of existing events
- Analysis of an individual completed event
- Analysis of trends and statistics across multiple events
- Suggesting tender approaches based on line items and supplier count
- Identifying anomalous bids and prompting review
- Tracking trends for products and adjusting qualification prices
But we are also keen to hear your suggestions; so please reach out to your account manager or our product team with your ideas!
