What is a pre-qualification questionnaire?

A pre-qualification questionnaire is a type of questionnaire that you create in your sourcing event in Market Dojo. If your event has a pre-qualification questionnaire, it will act as a gateway to the rest of your event: the participants must fill out this questionnaire first, and they can only continue with the submission process once the host has approved their answers.

This means that while they are in the pre-qualification stage of your event, the participants do not have access to the rest of the event, that is, they cannot see the other questionnaires, RFQs or the uploaded documents*.

Illustration 1: This is what the participants see in an event with a pre-qualification questionnaire. The other parts of the event are not visible at this point.
While the Document tab remains accessible at this stage as well, the documents within it are hidden.

Illustration 2: Once the pre-qualification questionnaire is answered and the Host accepts the answers, the participants can see the rest of the event and continue with the submission.

Important:
There can only be one pre-qualification questionnaire in an event, and once the event is launched it cannot be reverted to a normal questionnaire.

When to use a pre-qualification questionnaire

As the pre-qualification questionnaire acts as a first barrier in your event, here you can add any questions you need the participants to answer or to complete before allowing them to continue with the submission process and thus getting access to the rest of the information shared in the event.

Furthermore, if you are inviting suppliers you have not worked with before and would like to have a screening step before they can fully participate in your event, you can do this preliminary screening using pre-qualification questionnaire, then evaluate their responses and only allow those to continue who gave answers that met your expectations.

For example, if it is required that the participants sign an NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) and/or accept your Terms and Conditions before getting access to the bid documentation, you can set these requests as questions at this stage (e.g.: Yes/No question to confirm whether they accept your T&C's or Document Upload question where they need to upload a signed copy of your NDA).

*Important:
During the pre-qualification stage the participants cannot access the files uploaded to the Documents tab by default, so if you need to share certain documents with them at this stage already, select the 'Include in Invite' option when uploading them to your event:
