What's the issue you're facing?
I would like to setup scoring and weighting in my questionnaire. How do I do this?
Solution
When you have defined the scoring and weighting settings (on the Settings page), you need to build out your questionnaire.
Within
each question you will now see ‘Weighting’ under the section title (if
weighting is being used at Section or Question and Section level), ‘Scoring
Criteria’ text box, ‘Scoring’ field and ‘Weighting’ field (if weighting is
being used at Question or Question and Section level).
- Weighting under the section title
(See image 1 below – highlighted in blue) denotes the section weighting
percentage. This will default to 100%, when another section is added you will
likely want to change the weighting. This is done by clicking the ‘Edit section
attributes’ button on the right hand side of the section title (See image 2
below). You can then assign a section weighting to each section
Remember
the total section weighting within in the questionnaire needs to add up to
100%. For example, if you had 2 Sections you could decide both are equally
important and weight them 50% and 50%, however you may decide that the 2nd
section is more important and weight the sections 20% and 80%.
- Scoring criteria gives you space if
you wish to explain your scoring methodology to each question (This is shown to
participants)
- Scoring
allows you to determine the maximum score available in this question, This can
be any numerical value you want. (See image 1 below – highlighted in red). You
can assign a different score to each answer For example if you have a question
with a maximum
score of 10, Answer A could score 10, Answer B could score 5 and Answer C could
score 3 and Answer D could score 0. As long as the Maximum score is not
exceeded by answering a question then this would work. In the event of picking
from a multiple choice answer you will need to apply some logic to ensure that
the maximum score is not exceeded.
- Weighting will only show at the
question level if you have decided that you want weighting at question level or
both section and question level. On your first question within a section this
will default to 100%, as you add more questions in you will likely want to
amend the weighting across multiple questions. (See image 1 below – highlighted
in red)
Remember
the total question weighting within a section needs to add up to 100%. For
example, if you had 4 Questions you could decide they are equally important and
weight them 25%, 25%, 25% and 25%, however you may decide that the 4th
question is the most important question in that section and weight the
questions 10%,10%, 10% and 70%.
Top Tip:
Before adding in scoring and weighting into the platform plan! Decide what
factors are important to your event, Have a scoring methodology, decide if you
want to combine a qualitive questionnaire response and price RFQ responses. If
you are unsure build the event in the Sandpit and test from a participants
perspective.
