Scoring allows you to give scores to specific answers within the questionnaire. The scores assigned to question responses can be any numeric value.
Weighting allows you to give weighting to specific answers or sections within the questionnaire. Weighting can be assigned at section level, question level or both section and question level (See image 2 below).
If using
weighting for questions the weighting element for each question within a
section will need to add up to 100%. If using weighting for sections, the
weighting element of all sections within the questionnaire will need to add up
to 100%.

showing where to select if weighting is required.
If an RFQ is being run alongside a questionnaire with scoring you can weigh the qualitive elements captured in a questionnaire against a priced element captured in an RFQ (See image 3 below). (Note – if you have multiple questionnaires you will need to select one questionnaire that you would like the weighting to be taken from).
When using weighting alongside an RFQ you have two options for converting the prices into a percentage score.
1. Percentage of leading bid – If this is selected the price score for the participant will be calculated simply as a percentage of the leading bid.
2. Pro rata – If this is selected then
the score for the participant will be pro-rata between the Qualification price
and the leading bid. (Note – for this weighting mechanism you will have a
qualification price for each lot). For example, if it is a reverse auction and
the qualification price is £1000, and participants A has the leading bid of
£500 and Participant B has a bid of £750, then Participant A score will be 100%
and participant B score will be 50%.
To chose how the score is calculated select the method you would like to use in the ‘How should price score be calculated?’ drop down.
